Varmul’s bridge reopens after 5 months

Baramulla, Sep 30: After the gap of five months authorities on Wednesday reopened Baramulla”s cement bridge for traffic movement.
An official told Kashmir Despatch that after the improvement in COVID situation in the town, the bridge has been allowed for the traffic movement on Wednesday. He said as a precautionary measure the bridge was closed for both public as well as trafic movement.
Pertinently, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr GN Ittoo in a press conference said that all the religious places as well as shrines will be reopened in the district in phased manner .
As per Kashmir Despatch Correspondent, DC appleaded public to follow guidelines as well as SOPs while visiting religious places as well as shrines.
DC said that no one will be allowed to spend night in the shrines across district till there will be more improvement in the COVID situation in the district.
He said cooking as well as selling eatables will be completely banned in religious places.
Deputy commissioner further said that all the religious heads has been already informed to spread the awareness regarding the SOPs and other guidelines related the protection from COVID-19.
While answering the question regarding the non serious attitude of general public for not following SOPS in the town, DC replied said, “This is very unfortunate that people are not following the instructions, he said there will strict action against such violators as per law. He said that teams will visit also in villages to spread awareness among general masses,”.
