Baramulla sisters win Gold, Silver

BARAMULLA, Nov 16: Two sisters, residents of Baramulla shined in SKIA international Karate Championship held in Mapusa Goa on 5th-6th November winning Gold and Silver.

Falaq Fayaz and Tabsum Fayaz from  Pehalipora village  of Zanigar tehsil of Baramulla won gold and silver medals in the championship, respectively.

Talking to the Kashmir Despatch Falaq Fayaz credited her success to her parents especially her mother who, according to her daughter, supported her at every step. She also expressed gratitude to her coach who trained her all along till the championship was held.

The Karate championship was organized by Shotokan Do Indian Association (SKIA) supported by Shotokan Karate World Association (SKWA) at Mapusa Goa on 5th and 6th November 2022. “I want to take part in the Olympics to make India proud,” she hoped.
