Srinagar, June 9, 2026: The Department of Advanced Centre for Human Genetics, Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), is organizing the 53rd Annual Conference of the Indian Immunology Society – IMMUNOCON 2026, a prestigious national academic event bringing together leading immunologists, researchers, clinicians, and academicians from across the country.
The three-day conference will be formally inaugurated on 10th June 2026 at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC), Srinagar, and will conclude with a valedictory ceremony on 13th June 2026. Eminent experts and faculty members from premier institutions across India will participate in the event and deliberate on emerging trends, cutting-edge research, and recent advances in the field of immunology.
The conference assumes special significance in view of the rapidly evolving role of immunology in understanding diseases, developing innovative therapeutics, and improving patient care. The scientific sessions are expected to provide valuable learning opportunities for faculty members, researchers, residents, and students.
As a prelude to the conference, a Pre-Conference Workshop on “Foundation Course in Immunology”, themed “Understanding Our Immune System for a Healthy Life,” was organized at the SKIMS Auditorium. The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, scholars, and young researchers who gained valuable insights into fundamental and emerging concepts of immunology through interactive sessions conducted by distinguished experts in the field.
Commenting on the occasion, Director SKIMS and EOSG, Prof. M. Ashraf Ganie, said that such academic events provide an excellent platform for residents, researchers, students, and faculty members to interact with renowned experts and remain abreast of the latest developments in their respective disciplines.
