Snowfall Finally Returns to Kashmir Region After Month-Long Dry Spell

Srinagar, Jan 25 : Finally, after a month-long dry spell in the Kashmir region, snowfall has begun in the southern region of Kashmir.

Sources told News Agency Kashmir Scroll, the snowfall started at Peer Ki Gali in Shopian District along the Mughal Road.

The snowfall was still ongoing in the area when filed this report.

Meanwhile, the weatherman has predicted that there will be isolated to scattered light rain and snow over Jammu and Kashmir in the next few days.

The Meteorological Office has issued an advisory from January 28-31, warning of the possibility of temporary road closures in higher reaches and important passes like Sinthan pass, Mughal Road, Sadhna and Razdan pass, Zojila, etc.

Travelers are advised to plan accordingly, according to a statement from a meteorological department official to News Agency Kashmir Scroll.

On February 1, there is a possibility of light rain or snow at scattered places. (KS)
