Soldier killed, two Injured in cross border sheeling in North Kashmir

Baramulla, Sep 05: An army soldier was killed while two others sustained injuries in a cross border shelling in north Kashmir’s Naugam sector on Saturday.
Srinagar based Defense Spokesperson Rajesh Kalia in a statement issued to Kashmir Despatch said, Pakistan initiated an unprovoked Ceasefire Violation (CFV) along the Line of Control in Naugam Sector, Baramulla on Saturday morning by firing Mortars and other weapons.
He said befitting response was given back, however in the shelling one soldier was killed in the line of duty, while two soldiers sustained injuries and have been evacuated to 92 Base Hospital where the condition of both Injured soldiers are stable he added.
Meanwhile, on Saturday evening a Gunfight broke out in the forests of Kupwara which is still underway.
As per reports reaching to this newspaper said a joint team of Army’s 28 RR, SOG and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Dena Behak Warnow area of Kupwara.
The search operation turned into gunfight after hidding militants fired upon them.
When last reports came the operation in the area was on.
