Sopore: The Government of Jammu & Kashmir’s Housing & Urban Development Department has reached a significant milestone in the town of Sopore as they released the first installment of Central Assistance funds amounting to Rs. 10 crore under the AMRUT-2.0 (Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation) scheme.
This move is part of the approved tranche of SWAP (Sewerage and Water Augmentation Project), with a total project cost of Rs. 56 crore.
With the release of this initial installment, which totals Rs. 158.597 Crore overall, Sopore town celebrates the realization of its long-awaited dream of complete water coverage.
The achievement has been lauded by the Sopore Municipal Council President, Masrat Kar, who extended her heartfelt congratulations to the people of Sopore.
Masrat Kar attributed the success to the dedicated efforts of the Municipal Council and its diligent team, as well as the invaluable support from the LG government and the district administration. Additionally, she expressed her gratitude to the worthy Director of Urban Local Bodies Kashmir for their vital contribution to this remarkable accomplishment.
In light of this accomplishment, Masrat Kar further pledged to work diligently towards securing more funds from the government to fuel the ongoing development of Sopore. As the Municipal Council President, she remains committed to ensuring the continued progress and prosperity of the town.
