SRINAGAR, Mar 2: The undergraduate students (5th Semester) of degree college Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday held a protest demonstration over alleged irregularities in 5th-semester evaluation results declared by Kashmir University two days ago.
The protesting students termed evaluation results as injustice with them saying that Kashmir University is trying to ruin their careers by announcing this result.
Mudasir Ahmed Dar a protestor told Kashmir Despatch over the phone that this is due to the “callous approach of those who checked our papers’. He said several students, despite appearing in the exams, have been marked absent in one or two subjects in the recently declared results and even few have been marked pass despite not appearing in the same exams.
Another student part of this protest said: “I was marked absent even though I appeared in the exam.” He said the results are shocking for them as the majority of the students enrolled here in degree college Sopore are not satisfied.

A female student told Kashmir Despatch that they are protesting against the unfair and injustice results of the 5th-semester evaluation status declared by Kashmir University on Saturday.
She said the majority of students have been declared unsuccessful in many subjects due to alleged faults in the result declared by Kashmir University. Demanding justice to the students who failed in many subjects she said they demand an updated result in order to provide relief to them.
The protestors later dispersed peacefully after the police intervened in the matter.
College authorities, however, told this newspaper that the students’ demand is genuine. “There is an issue in declaring the result and the college authorities have taken up the issue with higher authorities,” a college officer.
