Amid the heightened tension over the surge in the number of COVID-19 positive cases in Baramulla district, the councilor of Sopore township, Irfan Ali, appealed to the people to stay at home and follow the lockdown protocol to fight this war against the deadly virus.
He said that people should come out only when it is necessary.
“We are fighting a deadly virus. People should take extra precautions to save their lives and their families. Administration is playing their part by implementing lockdown and keeping all services available but it is the duty of the people to be responsible citizens and help the administration in tackling this deadly virus,” Irfan said.
The councilor today visited several areas of the town and interacted with people.
He appealed the administration to provide all facilities to the common masses ahead of Shab-i-Qadr and Eid-ul-Fitr.
The councilor also visited bus stand Sopore where road metalling work is going on with full force.
“I must thank administration for this step and we are witnessing such kind of development after years. The shopkeepers are happy, the locals are happy by this step taken by Sopore administration. Our focus should be all over development of the township,” Irfan added.
The bus stand Sopore was not maintained with potholes everywhere as it lacked proper care from the administration from last many years.
