Sopore man who was declared positive now tests negative for COVID-19

Srinagar June 9: A 52-year-old man from Sopore who died on Tuesday morning at CD Hospital Srinagar and was declared positive for coronavirus has now tested negative.


The Sopore man had met an accident 20-days before. He was admitted to SMHS Hospital Srinagar wherefrom he was referred to CD Hospital Srinagar four days before.


He died on Tuesday morning and was also declared positive for coronavirus.


However, at around 2 pm, family members received a message that he was tested negative.


News agency KINS quoted a family member of deceased as saying that “As we were offering his Jinaza, we received a message on mobile which we had registered (at the time of sampling) that patient is tested negative,”.


The family member also shared the screenshot of the message with news agency which reads, “As per Covid-19 testing and tested done on you, your result has come negative.”


On Monday, a journalist also tested negative at SKIMS Soura, who was earlier declared positive at CD Hospital which sparked a massive controversy. (KINS)
