Sopore Musical Event: Unique performance by young artists enthralled the audience

Sopore, Nov 22: Army’s 22 RR on Sunday organized a mega music festival in Sopore town of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district with young and enthusiastic artists enthralling the audience with their live performances.

The musical festival of such a magnanimity was held for the first time in the history of Sopore- once a hot bed of militancy. The musical festival under the theme “Let the Talent Flourish” focused to give a suitable exposure to the talented singers of Kashmir and also to inspire hidden talent of the youth from Sopore region.

The program organizers said that the main aim of the event is to assist in building competitiveness amongst the local youth in the future and to keep them away from the menace of drug abuse and prevailing militancy in the region.

According to Kashmir Despatch Correspondent, several young and budding artists from every nook and corner of the region showcased their skill in front of a jam-packed audience who were recognizing their every move with thundering claps.
Artists while talking to the media said that they are glad to have given an opportunity to prove their mettle.

“Such programmes are the need of the hour as many youths are indulging in drugs. Our generation is under a lot of stress and it needs an outlet. It is high time to save the future of young generation by allowing them to express themselves by participating in musical events. We are hopeful that the army will conduct such programmes in the future also and youth of Kashmir be given a chance to showcase their talent,” the participants said.

At the end of the programme, an award ceremony took place in which young artists were provided with momentos to boost their spirit.

Meanwhile, an official said that army will organize such events in future as well to provide platform to the budding artists to showcase their hidden talent.

Commander 5 sector Breg. Vivek Narang, CO Abhishek Kumar, SHO Sopore Azim Iqbal, besides officials from civil sector were also present on the occasion.
