Sopore police on Tuesday launched a massive drive against violators of COVID-19 SOPs in north Kashmir’s Sopore area and imposed a fine of Rs 8000 on violators.
A joint team of police officers led by SHO Sopore conducted inspection of Sopore town and found shops open in micro containment zones. The erring shopkeepers were imposed fine on the spot.
“During the inspection, 5 shopkeepers were arrested who were running their bussiness despite being in micro containment zone and three vehicles were seized. Also a fine of Rs 8000 was imposed on the violators,” a police official said.
The official also appealed the people to follow the SOPs and other health related advisories for the safety of their own health and of others.
The Sopore police has also warned people of strict action if they continued to violate SOPs.
