Stolen Material Worth Lakhs Recovered, Burglars Arrested
Appeals Public Not to Buy Items Below Its Market Price
Sopore Police on Sunday claimed to have solved three theft cases which has reported in town amid this COVID-19 Lockdown and arrested two persons in this regard.
Police in a statement said during Saturday night, police party while patrolling caught Burglars along with stolen items.
On the investigation it was revealed that the same bugglers had stolen the grocery items from the Godown owned by a local shopkeeper in town. The stolen items were being ferried in a load carrier which also stands siezed.
Statement reads, the two arrested bugglers identified as Firdous Ahmad Shiekh son of Abdul Hamid Shiekh of Jalalabad Sopore and Imtiyaz Ahmad Siraj son of Nazir Ahmad Siraj of Shahabad Sopore.
After sustained interrogation the duo confessed their involvement in other similar cases of bugglary which took place on 01 April 2020 and 05 April respectively in which around 70 bags of onion and 100 boxes of eggs were stolen.
It was also revealed during questioning of the two that they sold out the stolen items to vendors in different villages of Sopore and Baramulla. Investigation in this instant case is going on and more revelations are expected.
Police statement further reads that peope are requested not to buy items from unknown persons selling items much cheaper than the actual price as well as report to police of they come across any such suspicious vendor or shopkeeper.
