Sopore police on Saturday claimed to have arrested three OGWs in recent grenade throwing case which was reported on SBI camp of 179 Bn CRPF on 25 January.
In a press conference SSP Sopore Javeed said that in a joint operation by Sopore police, Army’s 52 RR have arrested three persons who are behind the SBI camp of 179 Bn CRPF grenade throwing case. SSP identified all detained as Ghulam Qadir Rather son of Mohammad Shafi Rather resident of Tarzoo, Aijaz Ahmed Khan son of Ghulam Mohammad Khan resident of Naseem Bagh Sopore and Owaise Khalid Dar son of Ghulam Mohammad Dar resident of Naseem Bagh Krankshivan Colony Sopore.
SSP said that during the questioning all confessed the commission and it had revealed that the JeM militants based in Sopore provided 2 grenades to these individuals for throwing on the security forces to cause life damage/injury to security forces personnel. SSP further said that one grenade was recovered from them.
It is pertinent to mention here that in this regard a case FIR number 13/2019 U/S 307 RPC, 7/27 A act was registered in police station Sopore.
