Sopore resident dies of COVID, JK toll rises to 455

Sopore, August 08 : Kashmir on late Friday recorded one more COVID related death, taking the COVID death toll to 455 in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

An official told Kashmir Despatch that one more person became victim of this deadly virus late Friday evening.

He said the deceased is a resident of Zaloora Sopore a 50-year-old man.

He said earlier in the day eight persons including a CRPF soldier lost their battle against this invisible enemy.

The officer said among among a 60-year-old woman from Sopore Baramulla, a 55-year-old man from Chersoo Awantipora, a 65-year-old woman from Sarnal Anantnag, a 32-year-old man from Hawal Srinagar, a 46-year-old man from Kokernag Anantnag, a 60-year-old man from HMT Srinagar, a 65-year-old woman from Dalgate Srinagar and a 65-year-old man from Hawal Srinagar.

The COVID death toll now stands at 455 in J&K.
