SOPORE, Aug 2: The authorities on Tuesday attached the headmistress of a Sopore school allegedly for asking the students to do tedious jobs otherwise meant for peons and sweepers.
Sources told Kashmir Despatch that school education authorities on Tuesday ordered attachment of headmistress to another school in the town and also informed her to submit a report about the incident within a period of three days.
On Monday students of Government Middle School Chankhan Sopore hit the streets to register a protest against teachers allegedly for forcing them to work at school. What’s shocking is that the protesting students alleged that they were put to physical labour for a long time now on the instruction of the school headmistress.
Zonal Educational Officer Sopore (ZEO) Abdul Salam Dar told Kashmir Despatch that the department took note of students’ complaints and attached the concerned headmistress to another school. He added that the attached headmistress has also been asked to submit the report within three days.
