ARCO FC emerged winner in penalty shootout

Sopore : The first match of Industrial Estate Football Cup was played between ARCO FC and ALI JANA FC here at Khushal Stadium Sopore.
This is for the second time in the history of Sopore that any football match is being played under flood lights in volatile area of Sopore.
The organisers told Kashmir Despatch that a large number of enthusiastic spectators from all over valley witnessed the first match under flood lights.
The tournament being played under the banner of J&K Football Association in collaboration with J&K Sports council.
According to Kashmir Despatch Correspondent, the football fans cheered up on Sunday to watch their football heroes perform on sports field.
The crowd thoroughly enjoyed the 60-minutes of football match and also bringing relief on the faces of foothball lovers in Sopore.
Eyewitnesses said despite the busy schedule, the enthusiasm of the fans was huge as they had travelled a long distance to watch their football heroes perform at sports field.
Both the teams play aggressively in the match locked 2-2 on field score, later ARCO FC emerged winner in penalty shootout by 4/3.
The organizers said total 48 teams are participating in this tournament among 22 teams from Sopore, 5 teams from Baramulla, 1 team from Pattan, 8 teams from Srinagar 3 teams from Bandipora and others.
On this occasion, Joint secretary Sports Council Bashir Ahmad Bhat was the Chief Guest.
