Sopore youth’s suicide, rescue operation on to retrieve the body from Jehlum
Sopore, Oct 22 : The rescue operation launched to trace the youth from Sopore who allegedly committed suicide by jumping into river jehlum on Wednesday evening continued by joint teams of police and SDRF.
According to Kashmir Despatch Correspondent, the teams of police, SDRF and locals on Thursday morning resumed rescue operation to retrieve the body from river jehlum.
Station house officer Sopore Azim Iqbal told Kashmir Despatch that efforts are on to retrieve the body from the river, he added that a case has already been registered and further investigation has been initiated. He however added that army has also been informed to send navy for this operation.
Pertinently, on Wednesday evening a 12-year-old a class 8th student identified as Shahid Nazir Changal son of Nazir Ahmad Changal of Ahadbab crossing jumped into the river from bypass bridge.
According to sources the boy had some issue with family, left home and then called them and shared his location, then after family reached to the spot he jumped into river jehlum sources added.
