Sopore, Dec 25 : A partial shutdown is being observed in old town area of Sopore on Friday against the killing of a Jaish-e-Muhammad militant in a gun battle with forces in Kreeri village of Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday.
Sources informed Kashmir Despatch that some shops are closed in old town area of Sopore to mourn the death of a local militant in a gunfight.
Sources however added overall situation in the town is peaceful.
The two militants Abrar alias Langoo from Pakistan and Amir Siraj from Sopore were the slain militants in the gunfight in Wanigam Payeen area of Kreeri on Thursday.
Amir had gone missing on 24th June this year and was said to be an ace footballer.
