Dr Itoo Chairs DLRC Meeting; Reviews Achievement of Banks, Financial Institutions
Baramulla, March 10: Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr G N Itoo today said that special clusters in different regions of the district shall be formulated so that different entrepreneurial units viz sheep, poultry, dairy farming etc are promoted. He said that such clusters shall be formulated keeping in view the potential in terms of scope and available resources in these regions.
DC said this while chairing the District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting here at Dak Bungalow to review the overall performance of banks and other related institutions for the quarter ended December 2019 of the current financial year 2019-20.
Meeting was attended by Zonal Head JK Bank, LDM Baramulla Mohammad Shameem, DDM NABARD Mohammad Wasil, officers of various concerned departments, representatives of various banks and other financial institutions among other concerned.
On the occasion, the DC stressed on the need for 100 per cent achievement of Annual Credit Plan targets and emphasized upon the heads of various financial institutions to disseminate awareness with regard to the welfare schemes sponsored by them among masses so that people can avail benefits for their overall socio economic development. He directed the bank representatives to conduct outreach programmes/camps on the coming holidays of the current fiscal so that people at the grass root level are educated about various welfare programmes sponsored by them.
While expressing aghast over the poor performance of some banks, DC stressed upon them to achieve the desired target within the fixed timeframe. He also directed to expedite all the pending KCC loans among the farmers before 15th of this month besides complimenting JK bank for achieving 100% target in this regard.
Deliberating upon various departments to work in coordination, the DC directed the sponsoring departments/agencies to establish help desks for the candidates wishing to get financial assistance from these institutions. He also directed them to acquaint the appointed Nodal Officers with the requisite know-hows who can efficiently liaise between different stakeholders besides providing counseling to the aspiring candidates. He further impressed upon all stakeholders to leave no stone unturned in implementing the welfare and developmental schemes in the district aimed at uplifting the downtrodden and vulnerable sections of the society.
Meanwhile, enumerating the list of achievements, Lead District Manager said that the achievements under ACP 2019-20 for the district stood at ₹1796.93 Crores as on 31-12-2019 which constitutes 54.15% of the target of Rs 3318.48 Crores as laid down in ACP. He further said that achievements under priority sector advances were to the tune of ₹2761.99 Crores which constitutes 64.59% while as under non-priority sector the achievements are to the tune of ₹577.81 Crores against target of ₹588.29 Crores for FY 2019-20. The CD ratio of the district as on 31-12-2019was 80.65.
Earlier, DC launches Potential Credit Plan 2020-21 for District Baramulla that was prepared by NABARD.
