Baramulla, April, 15: In order to facilitate amicable settlement of the disputes and reduce pendency of cases in courts, District Legal Services Authority Baramulla today organized a Special Lok Adalat of the year 2023 for Motor & Accidents Claim Tribunal (MACT) cases at District Court Complex Baramulla & Sopore Court of
The Lok Adalat was held under the Chairmanship of Mohammad Yousuf Wani, District Legal Services Authority (Principal District & Sessions Judge), Baramulla and under the Supervision of Muzamil Ahmad Wani, Secretary District Legal Services Authority, Sub Judge Baramulla.
The Lok Adalat was comprised of 02 Benches. At District court Baramulla, 01 bench was constituted which was presided over by Worthy Chairman (Principal District & Sessions Judge) Baramulla. In addition to District Headquarter Baramulla, 01 bench was constituted at District Court Sopore which was presided over by Sunil Sangra (Addl. District & Sessions Judge).
During Lok Adalat, a total of 08 MACT/ matters were taken up in which 03 MACT Cases/matters were amicably settled.
An amount of Rs. 5,50,000/- was also realized in MACT cases amicably settled.
Meanwhile, advocates, people and participants appreciated the efforts and thanked District Legal Services Authority Baramulla for organizing the Special Lok Adalat.
