Srinagar-Laddakh road closed for traffic after snowfall after fresh snowfall

Ganderbal, Oct 26 : The Srinagar-Laddakh road has been closed for vehicular traffic by the authorities after fresh snowfall on Sunday evening.
Officials told Kashmir Despatch that on Sunday evening, the higher reaches of Kashmir including Drass received fresh snowfall.
He said due to this fresh snowfall at Mani marg, Drass and Zojila the authorities closed traffic on the highway as a precautionary measure.
As per local reports large number of vehicles are stranded in Sonamarg after road closed.
Talking with Kashmir Despatch SDM Drass Asghar Ali said that due to slippery condition of the road vehicular movement has been stopped. He said once weather will improve trafic movement will be restored accordingly.
Pertinently, The historic Mughal road connecting Poonch with Shopian via Pir Ki Gali was closed for vehicular traffic by the authorities after higher reaches received season’s maiden snowfall on Sunday evening.
