Srinagar Police busted gang of highway robbers, 3 held

Srinagar 12th March 2020: A gang of highway robbers and house breakers had let loose a reign of terror specially targetting non local trucks and houses around national highway of Srinagar city extorting money/committing thefts masquerading as gunmen with dummy Guns.

In this regard special teams were constituted by SSP Srinagar. The team under the supervision of SDPO Sadder, Dr. Azhar Rashid-JKPS, SHO Sadder, Shri Raies Hassan, DO Rangreth, Shri Sheikh Vakeel were successful in apprehending these robbers from bypass Srinagar along with dummy guns.

The arrested robbers were identified as 01.Sahil Ahmad shah S/o Mohd Aslam shah R/o Manganwaij Kanipora Srinagar 02.Javaid Ahmad shah S/o Gh Mohd shah R/o Manganwaij Kanipora Srinagar, Imran Ahmad shah S/o Gh Mohd shah R/o Manganwaij Kanipora Srinagar.

The above named accuseds are involved in number of FIRs involving thefts/robbery in Srinagar city

It is pertinent to mention here that the accused have also been previously found to be involved in other FIRs.

During investigation huge recoveries involving Maurti Car, TV, Refrigerators, Washing Machine, Gas cylindes, Cooking Gas Stoves, Crockrey, Electronic Goods, vehicle Batteries and 31 mobiles were made on the disclosure of the above accuseds.

Along with these recoveries the instruments used by this gang for house breaking/robbery were also recovered. Further investigation in this regard is going on.
