GANDERBAL, AUGUST 22: The body of an 18-year-old youth from Srinagar, who went missing while bathing in Nallah Sindh in Kangan area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, was recovered on Saturday following a two-day search operation, officials said.
The deceased was identified as Danish Bilal, son of Bilal Ahmad Hajam, a resident of Hafiz Bagh, Dargah, Srinagar.
Officials said Danish had reportedly gone to Nallah Sindh near the dumping park at Kijpara, Kangan, on Friday to take a bath. He subsequently went missing, following which police and local residents launched a search operation in the area.
After extensive efforts, the search teams traced and recovered the body from the water body on Saturday.
The body was taken into custody and shifted for medico-legal formalities, officials said.
Police have initiated further proceedings into the incident.
