SSP Mohammad Aftab Mir Conferred With President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service

19 Others Get Police Medal for Meritorious Service

SRINAGAR, Aug 14: Senior Superintendent of Police Mohammad Aftab Mir has been conferred with President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service and nineteen others including SSP Tahir Sajjad Bhat with President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service on eve of Independence Day.

SSP Mohammad Aftab Mir is the only from Jammu and Kashmir Police to get the prestigious award of President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service category.

In the Meritorious Service Category besides Tahir Sajjad Bhat, the other awardees, as per GNS, include; SSP Altaf Ahmad Shah, SSP Girdhari Lal, SSP Rakesh Kumar, SSP Ravinder Pal Singh Dutt, SSP Sanjay Singh Rana, SSP Shafkat Hussain Butt, SSP Shivdeep Singh Jamwal, DySP Dedar Singh, DySP Mohammad Ayoub Rather Inspector Muzamil Ahmad Bhat, Inspector Nisar Ahmad Shah, Inspector Piaray Lal Pandit, Inspector Satinder Vir Singh, ASI Ajit Dhar, SI (M) Ishrat Jan SI (M), SI Mohammad Ishtiyaq Gojar, SI Zaffar Ali Khan, Inspector (C) Riyaz Ahmad Shah and Inspector Vivek Kalsotra.

Notably, the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service (PPM) is awarded for special distinguished record in Police Service and the Police Medal for Meritorious Service (PM) is awarded for valuable service characterized by resource and devotion to duty. (GNS)
