Baramulla : The Municipal Council Baramulla President Touseef Raina Monday asked the J&K Government to reconsider the orders of removal of illegal encroachment from state land, as it may affect the poor people of the Union Territory.
Raina while addressing a press conference here at Baramulla said that it is a good initiative taken by LG administration but action should be taken against land mafia and big sharks involved in large scale encroachment of state lands.
“Before taking any step, there should be an inquiry so that poor people will not suffer. There are poor people who have acquired a chunk of land and set up a small business. They can be hurt by such steps,” Raina added.
He said that Kashmir has a good number of such people who are living in an absurd situation and have set small shops, businesses on state land and such an order can make them jobless.
Touseef however appealed to the LG administration to take strict action against those people who have grabbed the state land in the guise of political affiliation.
