SOPORE, FEB 02 : The authorities in Sopore area of North Kashmirs Baramulla district have given one final warning to street vendors as many among them were seen breaking rules and regulations.
Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said that street vendors were accommodated to a proper place amid traffic jams and emergencies in the area.
However, despite accommodating street vendors, many among them were still seen on the streets causing inconvenience to locals and commuters.
“This is utter shame, how can they break rules and regulations, even when they were accommodated and were provided a proper space to earn their bread and butter”, said one of the locale.
Meanwhile a senior official told Kashmir Despatch that there seems to be some political backing in all this. We have issued a warning to them today and it is the last warning as next time they will face the action.
He added we had given them a proper space to earn bread and butter but they continued doing things on their own which can cost them dearly. We can’t let locals and commuters suffer.
Talking with Kashmir Despatch, councillor Irfan Ali said that people should co-operate admin for making a town better and developed. He said admin had accomdated all street vendors properly which provided relief to commuters and locals. Irfan however, said that we are working on developmental issues and will continue in helping everyone at every aspect.
