Sopore,Jan 30 : Days after Sopore police accommodated street vendors in the town to few locations, nasty politics by certain members of political parties has put Sopore back to square one.
Earlier ADC Sopore and police fixed certain proper locations to the street vendors and provided relief to the people in the town. Locals hailed the move calling it a great step towards development.
The street vendors were occupying much space causing immense trouble to locals as well as to administration.
A local from Sopore said that it was a great step taken by Sopore administration as people here were suffering every day due to massive traffic jams caused by choking of space by street vendors.
However, sources privy to Kashmir Despatch said that few members of a political party are hell bent to create ruckus in the town by allegedly instigating the street vendors.
“A well known political figure including his party members are instigating the street vendors against police and Sopore administration. The political members are instigating the street vendors to fix their hand carts in the town which will cause traffic jams and hinder public movement once again,” sources added.
Talking to Kashmir Despatch President Traders federation Sopore Qazi Hashmatullah said that the move taken by Sopore adminstation must be hailed and accepted by one and the all as it gave residents of Sopore a space to breath.
“We can see a change in Sopore and we will support every such step taken by the administration that will be helpful for common masses. I oppose to all such unscrupulous elements who may create a ruckus by instigating the street vendors for their personal political gains. Sopore has suffered much due to this nasty political but we won’t let it happen again,” Qazi added.
He said that had this step been against common people or the street vendors, Sopore Traders federation would have opposed the move in the first place.
