Baramulla, 13 Oct: In absence of the proper school building, the students of Government Middle School Frasthar in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district are allegedly forced to study under the open sky.
“It is very difficult for us to study, but we do not have any other option, we are studying in the open sky for last many years alleged students as per Kashmir Despatch Correspondent, during a protest while demanding the redressal of this long pending issue”,
As per protesting parents, the authorities declared the building of this school unsafe long back in the 2006 earthquake but unfortunately, they are yet to repair it, thus indicating how serious admin is for the future of young generations.
The parents alleged that the admin is not-reachable since then and hardly bothers to reach out to look into this issue despite approaching them n number of times.
One of the parents while talking with Kashmir Despatch said that “Every day I used to beat my kids when they were coming back from the school due to their duty uniform but one day I decided to visit here and I came up with a surprise where I found they are being given education in an open sky and are playing in the dust whole day which not only affected their education but created health issues as well, she, however, appealed the authorities to shift this school to the nearby in any govt. building so that their children not only will face inconvenience but their health too will be fit”, she added.
The other protesting parents appealed to the Govt. authorities to look into these very genuine issues for the sake of the career of their children. They said where can our children go when its rains or other harsh weather conditions?
This is a question mark for the education department.
Talking to Kashmir Despatch over the phone, one of the local teachers said, “yes situation on the ground is quite hard for not only the 50 students but for we 5 teachers also as the buildings are completely damaged, he said this school is also headless however informed all the authorities about our sufferings but sofar nothing positive happened on the ground, he said chief education officer Baramulla also has been informed about this issue”.
