New Delhi, Apr 23: The Supreme Court of India and its Registry observed a two-minute silence at 2:00 PM today to pay tribute to the victims of the horrific terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of 26 people, most of them tourists.
The solemn observance was held within the premises of the apex court as a mark of respect for the innocent lives lost in one of the deadliest civilian attacks in the region in recent years.
According to an official communication, the silence was observed by judges, court staff, and members of the Registry in solidarity with the victims and their families.
The terror attack, which occurred on Tuesday in the scenic Baisaran meadows of Pahalgam, sent shockwaves across the country and has been widely condemned by leaders, civil society, and institutions.
In a rare gesture of institutional mourning, the Supreme Court joined the national outpouring of grief, emphasizing the need for unity and compassion in the face of senseless violence.
