New Delhi: The SURYAPATH TIRANGA Global Relay is live, marking a unique global celebration of India’s Independence Day as the Tiranga travels across the world following the path of the rising sun.
From 1:30 AM IST to 10:30 AM IST on today , 21 Indian Missions and Posts across countries from East to West have hoisted the National Flag as part of the global relay. The initiative symbolically traces the journey of the rising sun across time zones, carrying the spirit of India’s freedom, unity and national pride across continents.
Under SURYAPATH TIRANGA, the Tiranga moves across the globe through a coordinated sequence of flag hoistings at selected Indian Missions and Posts. As dawn breaks in one part of the world, the National Flag is raised there, followed by the next Mission or Post further west, creating a continuous relay of the Tiranga across the globe.
The initiative is being undertaken as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga 2026 celebrations and reinforces the message that the Tiranga transcends geographical boundaries, bringing together Indians and friends of India across the world.
The global relay is a celebration of India’s unity, patriotism and global presence, with Indian Missions and Posts serving as ambassadors of the national spirit as the Tiranga follows the path of the rising sun on Independence Day.
SURYAPATH TIRANGA thus transforms the passage of time across the globe into a symbolic journey of the National Flag beginning with the first light of the day in the East and carrying the spirit of Viksit Bharat, national pride and unity towards the West.
