Teachers association raises questions on IMPACT training

Srinagar, Sept 28: In the wake of ongoing IMPACT (Integrated Multidisciplinary Professional Advancement Course For Teachers) training, Chairman Teachers Association Shah Fayaz while addressing press conference at Press club Srinagar showed concern about this training program and added the fact that the UT Administration has totally manipulated the actual module and guidelines of IMPACT.

He added that education department should come clean who are trained and untrained teachers and on which basis they are deciding it.

It is pertinent to mention here that the module of IMACT reads that IMPACT is purely meant for the teachers with no Professional degree. Unfortunately Govt. of JKUT included even those teachers in the said training course who are not only professionally trained but have teaching experience of so many years.

He added that they aren’t not against training but the government should clear the confusion why among the teachers with same degrees, some are enrolled for training and some are not and it leaves a negative impact.

He demanded that if the training is for providing basic skills to teachers then it should be mandatory to all.
