When man first set his foot on Moon, it was believed that sooner all other planets in the solar system will be vanquished within a span few decades. But with time it was realised that human progression and technical advances still lagged much behind in comparison to the expanse of the universe.
It was during the cold war era when battle for space exploration was exhuberantly fought between US and USSR. The sucess of Apollo 11 mission was primarily due to the immense channelization of United State’s funds for various space programs including the moon mission.
However, sooner it was realised that spending government exchequer on these sumptuous projects while overlooking the much needed expenditure for other public welfare works was not wise decision at all. Thus, the budget for space research was curtailed to a great extent.
Now at turn of the century, things have once again started to change. Many countries have began to launch their own space programs. India is one of the six leading countries in the world which possess full capabilities for launching extra-terrestrial missions into the space besides maintaining a fleet of artificial satellites in the earth’s orbit.
Humans have collectively progressed with regards to space research programs and exploring alien world’s. The images from Mars sent by the Perseverance rover and ingenuity coaxial are not only spectacular and breathtaking but simultaneously relate the amazing success story of modern space missions while giving hope for much more to be unraveled in times to come.
As the private companies have also begun to show their intrest in Space programs especially by developing new launching capabilities, the world governments are looking for returning to the Moon and even beyond. The privatisation of space and intiation of new space programs will undoubtedly usher in a new era of space age where unprecedented knowledge about our universe will soon be unveiled.
