Sopore, Jan 22 : Who would have thought that a young girl living in a remote area would achieve remarkable success at such a young age and bring pride to Kashmir?

Just a year ago, a video of a 7-year-old girl playing impressive cricket shots went viral on social media. The video not only took the internet by storm but also caught the attention of the God of Cricket, Sachin Tendulkar. He praised the skills of young Hurmat, stating that videos of talented kids like her bring a smile to his face.

However, the story didn’t end there; it became even more exciting when another video of Hurmat reached cricket star Mithali Raj.

In one video, Hurmat said, “I have seen videos of Mithali Raj playing cricket for the Indian team, which inspired me, and I want to play for Team India one day.” In response, former captain of the Indian Women’s cricket team, Mithali Raj, expressed her delight in witnessing Hurmat’s talent, passion, and determination for cricket at such a young age. She encouraged Hurmat to stay strong in her cricket journey.

Meanwhile, a year has passed, and the school authorities of Prime Public School (PPS) Zaingeer have sent Hurmat Irshad to the  Pathans Cricket Academy in Jaipur, where she will be trained professionally.

Speaking to Kashmir Despatch, Owaise Azam, the principal of the school, stated that the school authorities have committed to fully supporting Hurmat and enhancing her cricketing skills so that she can play professional cricket in the future.

Owaise Azam further mentioned that the school will back her and provide complete support in helping her become a great professional cricketer, while also ensuring that her education remains free.
