Ganderbal, Mar 10 : A young girl from Ganderbal is emerging as a young aspiring rapper with her music winning hearts all over the internet.
Humaira Jan, 13, daughter of Mehraj-ud-din Magray of Thune Kangan in Ganderbal has produced music addressing social issues including women empowerment.
“I was introduced to hip-hop in class 2 and since then I have been writing and singing songs,” she told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
Last year, she performed in a rap battle in Manasbal and secured first position in the competition.
“The focus of my songs remains women empowerment and I want to see women get their due rights and status they deserve,” Humaira said.
She said that youth must follow their dreams with determination and one day they will definitely achieve their goal.
Principal Army Goodwill School Margund Bilal Ahmad said that they feel proud that they have such a talented student in their school. “We wish her all the best for her future endeavors,” he said—(KNO)
