Urges LG to look into the issue
Suhail Khan
The border town Uri Sarpanch Faisal Khan Thursday said that people of Uri who always supported democracy and vehemently took part in strengthening the nation are being neglected on a developmental level.
He claimed that the border town of Uri is without a SDM and Tehsildar creating huge problems for the people.
“A time when India as well as UT of Kashmir is fighting an invisible war with covid 19, it is the duty of administration to help the common masses. But it is unfortunate that border town Uri people are facing a lot of problems due to vacant posts of SDM and Tehsildar. Whom shall people contact in case of any problem and when there is no official present, how can people feel protected,” Faisal said.
A town 70 kilometres away from Baramulla is strategically important and caters to a huge population living in the border areas.
Faisal Iqbal Khan said that how can people manage in this pandemic if they need any important things to be done.
“There should be a special treatment for the people of this region who have supported democracy all the time. But what we see is completely against. We don’t have any SDM or a Tehsildar from last one month and people are facing a lot of issues to avail the important documents at their doorstep,” he added.
The young Sarpanch appealed to the LG to look into the issue and other issues pertaining to border town Uri and address the issue at an earliest.
“I appeal to our worthy LG to look into the issue at an earliest and help the poor people of Uri town. Also despite having 3 power projects here, people here are without electricity. Justice should be done to the people here,” Faisal said.
He also appealed the people to follow proper healthcare SOPs and cooperate with the administration in stopping spread of Coronavirus.
