Awantipora 26 September: Acting tough against the social crimes, Awantipora police have arrested three gamblers in Khrew.
Acting on a specific information regarding gambling activities at Khrew, a police party of Police Station Khrew headed by SHO PS Khrew Inspector Naieem Rashid under the supervision of SDPO Pampore Shri RP Singh raided the specific spot and arrested the three gamblers. They have been identified as:
1. Mukhtar Ahmad Shah
S/O Gh Ahmad Shah
R/O Panthachowk Srinagar
2. Showkat Ahmad Ganie
S/O Gh. Mohd Ganie
R/O Dangarpora Nowgam Srinagar.
3. Manzoor Ahmad Guroo
S/O Mohd Sultan Guroo
R/O Sambarbugh Nowgam Srinagar
Officers have seized stake money of Rs.25,630/- and playing cards from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 71/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered in police station Khrew and further investigation has been initiated.
Person found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per the law.General public is requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
