Srinagar, June 26: One more militant has been killed in a gunfight at Tral area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district, taking the toll of killed militants to 3.
Srinagar based defense spoksperson in a statement issued to Kashmir Despatch said Op Chewa (Pulwama). Operation update. 01 more militant killed (Total 03 militants killed).
A police officer also confirmed to this newspaper about the killing of three militants in the gunfight and said the identity of the slain militants was yet to be ascertained.
Pertinently, a joint team of Army’s 42 RR, Police and 180 BN of CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Chewa Ullar on Thursday evening.
As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off an encounter.
