Timber smuggling bid foiled in north Kashmir, two vehicles siezed, one held

Srinagar, April 30 : Police on Thursday foiled a timber smuggling bid in Border town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district and arrested one smuggler.

A police officer told Kashmir Despatch, a vehicle carrying illegal timber was siezed in Hillen Pehlipora area of Boniyar during a naka checking and one smuggler was arrested. Officer said a case under FIR 25/2020 u/s 34 IPC 26 IFA was registered and further investigation has been initiated.

Meanwhile police seized a vehicle bearing registration number JKO4A- 4353 loaded with illegal timber near Paribal area in Bandipora district.
