Sopore : After the massive boat rally, the Sopore town Saturday witnessed another big tiranga rally to celebrate Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
As per Kashmir Despatch Correspondent, the Tiranga rally was conducted by Sopore Rashtriya Rifles 22 RR Bn and 7 Sect RR in collaboration with MC Sopore from Clock Tower, Sopore to Police station Sopore.
The rally was headed by Mrs Masarat Kar, President Municipal Council Sopore. The rally was joined by SSP Sopore, CO 179Bn, CO 22RR, ZEO Sopore, students from various schools and locals.
This is after 32 years that such a magnanimous Tiranga rally was held in the main town Sopore that was once a hotbed of militancy and separatist politics.
Scores of students, locals and other people took out the rally in main town Sopore which was once a strong belt of stone pelters and no one would have dared to hold a rally in this locality.
The school children, locals led by MC President, held Tiranga in their hands and passed through the market. The move was appreciated by the locals and shopkeepers of the area.
