To avoid traffic accidents, Sopore Media Association installed sign boards

Sopore, April 08 : To avoid traffic accidents, traffic jams and guide commuters in the town , Sopore media association Thursday installed several signboards at different places.

The step was taken after the administration failed to install traffic signs in the town that led to several accidents in past six months.


In a statement, Sopore media Association said that due to the concrete dividers that were to streamline the traffic movement in the town several accidents occured in last six months and administration was informed time and again but nothing positive happened.

“As a mark of protest against administration, we took this step to spread a message among the people that Sopore media is here for the welfare of own people. We always aspire to work for the betterment of town,” one of the members of Sopore Media Association said.

President Sopore Media Association Shabir Khan said that the reporters working with different national and local media outlets and who are part of the association can’t wait to see people suffer due to lackadaisical approach of administration.

“We all came forward to spread a positive message among the masses and hope that officials will take a cue and try to address the issues pertaining to the common people,” he added.

Talking to media, Suhail Khan, a senior journalist said that after administration failed to redress this issue, the journalists decided to install the signboards in the town.

“We are here for the common people, we can’t see them suffer due to negligence of few officials. Raising our voice and becoming a voice for voiceless is main motive. Rather it is responsiblity of evey individual to come forward and to do their bit for the betterment of town,” Suhail added.

He said that in future, the Sopore media association will work on more such programs and will try to help common people and redress their grievances at an earliest.
