Sopore : A top commanded of Jaish-e-Mohammad militant outfit was killed in a gunfight at Sopore town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday.
An official told Kashmir Despatch one militant has been killed in a day-long operation in Sopore and identified him as Jaish-e-Mohammad militant outfit top comander Sajad Nawab Dar of Saidpora. Officer however said operation is still going on.
In the gunfight an army soldier was injured and was rushed go to MI hospital for treatment where as per reports he is said to be stable.
Earlier, Army’s 22 RR, SOG and CRPF laid siege to Gul Abad area of Arampora Sopore following inputs about the presence of militants movement in the area.
Meanwhile authorities suspended Internet services in Sopore town as a precautionary measure in wake of this gunfight.
