Srinagar, Jan 20 : Kashmir MBBS student Mohd Arsalan, who tragically passed away in Iran earlier this month, will have his body returned to his hometown today official sources said.
An official told Kashmir Despatch that the body of Arsalan, a fourth-year medical student at Iran University of Medical Sciences (IUMS), will be flown back home and is expected to arrive in his native village in Sopore today where the last rites will be performed.
Reports suggest that Arsalan, 28, was found dead in his rented accommodation in northern Tehran, with a suspected cardiac arrest being cited as the cause of death.
Having initially studied at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, he then transferred to IUMS in Tehran, where he lived alone in a rented accommodation.
Some of his friends have mentioned that he was generally a cheerful person but had been experiencing stress due to exams.
