Tral, Feb 11: Tral is now known as Mini India, not Tora Bora, according to Altaf Thakur, spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Jammu and Kashmir. Thakur made this statement during a party workers’ convention at Townhall Tral on Sunday.
He criticized previous ruling parties for hindering the growth and development of Tral, saying they deliberately labeled it as a hub of terrorism to impede its progress.
Bashir Ahmad Mir, a former supervisor of the Geology and Mining department, joined the BJP along with hundreds of workers during the event. Mir expressed his support for the BJP’s agenda of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, sabka vishwas” (Together with all, Development for all, Trust of all), stating that after observing various parties’ performance, he found BJP’s goals most aligned with his views.
Thakur congratulated Mir on joining the BJP, emphasizing the party’s commitment to inclusivity and development.
Additionally, Thakur assured the people of Tral, stating, “If BJP wins, Tral will get district status, and all pending works will be done on priority. Now the big force in Tral is BJP and no one can beat us.”
