Two boys drown in Ramsu river

One body retrieved, searches underway to find another: SHO Ramban

Ramban, March 15 : Two teenaged boys drowned in river Chenab in Ramsu area of Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.

Station House Officer (SHO) Ramban Javid Iqbal told news agency over phone that the boys namely Abid Ahmad Manhas (15) son of Mushtaq Ahmad Manhas and Towqeer Ahmad Manhas (15) son of Rafiq Ahmad Manhas slipped into the river near Magerkote area of Ramsu.

Soon after receiving the information, police concerned immediately rushed to the spot and launched searches, SHO said.

While body of Abid has been retrieved, searches are underway to trace out the body of Towqeer, SHO said.

Reports said that the boys are cousins and were returning home from a nearby playground. (GNS)
