Srinagar, Oct 30: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has ordered the termination of two government employees for their alleged involvement in activities “detrimental to the sovereignty and integrity of India.”
The dismissed employees have been identified as Ghulam Hussain and Majid Iqbal Dar, both serving as teachers in the Education Department. The terminations were approved under Article 311(2)(c) of the Constitution of India, which empowers the government to dismiss employees without holding a departmental inquiry if such action is deemed necessary in the interest of the security of the state.
Authorities said the duo were found to have links with militant organizations and were allegedly engaged in activities that promoted anti-national sentiments. The move is part of the administration’s ongoing effort to root out elements within the government system who are suspected of supporting or aiding militancy in any form.
The decision followed a verification process by multiple agencies, including inputs from security and intelligence departments. “The cases were thoroughly examined before the final approval was granted. The administration maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards anyone found compromising national security or promoting separatist ideology.
Since 2019, the Jammu and Kashmir government has dismissed several employees from various departments under the same constitutional provision, citing threats to state security. [KNT]
