Two militant associates held in Sopore, arms recovered

Sopore, August 09: The Jammu and Kashmir police on Monday claimed to have arrested two militant associates from north Kashmir’s Sopore village and recovered arms and ammunition from their possession.


An official told Kashmir Despatch that during naka checking at Darpora Bomai which was laid by a joint team of Army’s 22 RR, SOG Sopore, CRPF 92,179 BN arrested two militant associates.


The officer identified both as Ishfaq Ahmad Mir son of Ghulam Hassan Mir of Gund Brath and Mohammad Shafi Bhat son of Late Md Maqbool of Darpora Bomai and recovered one Hand Grenade-1 and AK-47 rounds-20 from their possession.


A police officer also confirmed to Kashmir Despatch and said A case FIR No. 63 / 2020 U/S 7/25 IA Act, 18, 23, 38, 39 ULA (P) Act has been registered in PS Bomai in this regard.
