Prolonged Delay in Kangan Road Project Sparks Concern; Locals Seek Action Against Those Responsible

KANGAN, SEPTEMBER 16 : Work on the Hariganiwan-Yechama PMGSY road in Kangan Sub-Division of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district has reportedly remained suspended for nearly two months, leaving residents and commuters facing continued inconvenience.
According to locals, the prolonged halt in construction has raised serious concerns over the pace of execution of the road project. They said the road serves as an important connectivity link for the area and that the delay is creating difficulties for people who depend on it for their daily movement.
Residents have questioned the reasons behind the prolonged suspension of work and urged the concerned authorities to establish accountability for the delay.
The locals have called upon the administration to direct the immediate resumption of the road work, monitor the progress of the project regularly and ensure that the construction is completed within the stipulated timeframe.
They have also sought appropriate action against the contractor and officials concerned, if any lapse or negligence is found during the course of an official review.
Residents said that further delay could aggravate the problems faced by commuters and urged the administration to treat the matter as a priority.
Meanwhile, SDM Kangan has assured that necessary action will be taken and that the matter would be taken up with the concerned authorities for appropriate intervention.
The residents have expressed hope that the intervention by the administration will lead to the early resumption and timely completion of the Hariganiwan-Yechama PMGSY road project.
