Two women drug peddlers held in Awantipora

Srinagar : Two women drug peddlers were arrested and a large quantity of cannabis was recovered from their possession in the Southern part of Kashmir on Wednesday.


Kashmir Despatch learned from police sources that during Naka checking two women drug peddlers (name withheld) were apprehended by police in South Kashmir’s Awantipora and the large quantity of illegal drug were recovered from them.


Sources further said in this regard a case FIR number 20/2020 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police station Awantipora and further investigation has been initiated.


Meanwhile, police continuing its drive against drug peddlers arrested a man also in Awantipora who was per police was a narcotic drug peddler and identified him as Bashir Ahmed Ganie of Pulwama.


Police sources said that he was on Scooty bearing registration number JK13D 3047 when a team of police arrested him along with 500 grams of contraband substances.
