According to wire service— Nilza said that it’s been only one month since she took the charge at Budgam police station. “We have arrested many youth, who are in the age group of 16 to 25 along the drugs like codeine, and diazepam tablets which are easily available in the market,” she said.

Nilza said that in the past one month, they have arrested nearly a dozen youth along with drugs that include Corex bottles, and diazepam tablets. “I wonder, how these children manage these drugs without prescription,” she told NEWS AGENCY. “We arrest the drug peddlers and book them under the relevant sections of the law. The addicts are being counselled properly.”

She said it is the mission of her department to fight against the menace of drug abuse and she is one of the soldiers in the fight.

Her counterpart Farah said she was shocked to see young boys involved in drug abuse. “I have arrested many youth with cash worth Rs 3 lakh, Rs one lakh and drugs like Heroine and Charas. This is really disturbing,” she told. “Young generation of Kashmir is falling fast prey to drug abuse.” (KNO)
