Umer Gull New Bowling Coach Of Pakistan National Team

Date:

In what has been the latest development as per the reports in Cricket Pakistan, it is learned that the former speedster is all set to replace Morne Morkel as the fast bowling coach of Pakistan. The former Proteas fast bowler on Monday (13th November) parted ways with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Morne Morkel resigned as Pakistan’s fast bowling coach after the debacle in the ICC World Cup 2023. He couldn’t do justice to his reputation as bowlers under him suffered thrashing in the tournament and it was one of the main reasons behind the team’s poor outing in the tournament in India.

As the Pakistan team reached back home, Morne Morkel stepped down as the fast bowling coach. The Babar Azam-led side are next slated to travel to Australia for the all-important three-match Test series against Australia and his services could’ve been crucial.

With him stepping down, it is learned that PCB might rope in Umar Gul as the fast-bowling coach for the Australia tour. The former Pakistan pacer temporarily took the job in Morne Morkel’s absence during the series against Afghanistan.

Umar Gul has a great experience in terms of coaching. He was part of Afghanistan’s coaching setup as well. His experience would be handy for the team if the reports emerge to be true. Also with him being familiar with the environment in the Pakistan Cricket Team, it could’ve turned out to be a game-changing move for the team. (Agencies )
